Places To Visit In Malaysia

  • Fraser’s Hill

Fraser’s Hill is a hill station in Pahang, Malaysia. It is a popular tourist destination with cool temperatures and scenic views. Its proximity to the equator, low altitude and high rainfall contribute to its lush green forests, steep terrain and freshwater streams. The climate is cooler than the lowlands including temperature drops of about 10 degrees Celsius at night as compared to daytime highs in Kuala Lumpur or coastal towns like Penang or Malacca.

Fraser’s Hill also has some of the cleanest water on earth due to its higher elevation; it takes two days for the rainwater up here to make it into rivers or lakes down below. The area was named after James Renton Fraser (1825-1884), who was a British Resident of Pahang between 1875-79, during which time he created a garden around his residence near Bukit Fraser (Fraser Peak).

The gardens are now open for public viewing but some areas remain private property belonging to descendants of Mr Fraser. This place is popular among locals as a weekend getaway from urban life while tourists come because they want a break from their busy lives back home or simply enjoy being away from city noises

  • Jonker Street

Jonker Street holds an important place in the heart of the people of Melaka for it has played a great role in the city’s history and culture. It has been a commercial centre since time immemorial, with its history dating back to the 15th century when it was known as Heeren Straat because European traders from Portugal, Holland, and England came to do business here. It also served as Melaka’s Chinatown district where you will find Chinese temples and clan houses, some dating back to 18th century.

There are also many local eateries and street food stalls serving traditional dishes like rojak, cendol and yong tau foo. Other than that, the street features narrow lanes and shophouses with traditional Chinese characters. The shophouses are now converted into different modern shops or restaurants, providing tourists with a distinctive cultural experience.

Today Jonker Street is a lively tourist destination with plenty of shops selling souvenirs, clothes, Chinese herbs & spices and other knick-knacks alongside cafes. You can also enjoy street performances such as Malay martial arts demonstrations or live music shows all day long while walking around this historic area.

  • Tioman Island

The name “Tioman” means “man from across the sea”, and according to legend, it was given by a fisherman who landed on its shores after surviving a storm at sea in his boat carrying ten other men who perished in the storm.

There are many different varieties of plants and animals on the island, as well as beautiful coral reefs and waters for swimming. The most famous hike on Tioman Island Malaysia is Gunung Kajang which offers a breathtaking view of the whole island from its peak. Other popular destinations on Tioman Island Malaysia such as Turtle Beach.

The Malaysian Government declared Tioman a marine park in 2000 which protects turtles that nest on its beaches every year between November and April Tioman has been inhabited for 8,000 years ago with many archaeological sites proving that fact. It is almost one hour flight from Kuala Lumpur to Kuantan, then a ferry ride will take you there.

  • Batu Caves

The Batu Caves is a limestone hill (karst) with a Hindu temple inside, as well as a cave that contains stalactites and stalagmites. This is also the site of an annual festival known as Thaipusam. The tradition in this ceremony stems from the ancient Hindu faith where devotees would pierce their skin with metal spikes, hang heavy objects from hooks on their skin, or dance until they were out of breath in order to show their devotion to Lord Murugan (Hindu god), an incarnation of Shiva.

You may be accessed by Grab car/taxi or via KTM Komuter train along the Seremban Line. Below is Klang Valley Integrated Transit Map.

Entrances to the caves are found on both the right and left sides of the hill, with steps leading down towards pastures below where visitors may be able to find vendors selling souvenirs or other traditional Malaysian foods such as roti canai (Indian-style bread). The opposite side of the caves leads up towards a Hindu temple which can be accessed by climbing more stairs.

Other than taking public transport, you may also choose to go there by Private Car Taxi From Singapore To Malaysia. This is the most comfortable and enjoyable way for those who want to avoid waste of time (train being delayed/ cancelled due to the bad weather) or has more privacy. However, it’s highly recommended to choose TAXISGMY’s  Day Trip Hour Service. So, you can go anywhere nearby instead of paying extra money to book a Grab car that will charge you by kilometre!
